Stella Artois Fan Page with a hint of Sleeman Fan Page explained...More like Fan WEBSITES!

After all the virtual conversations we had in the past about comparing Sleeman and Stella Artois we would assume that the discussion of fan pages would be talked about right? WRONG!

After long research hours of looking through for any possible fan accounts created on any social platforms that were discussed in past blogs but YouTube. I later found out that Sleeman Brewery doesn't have any associated fan pages but Stella Artois…well they don’t have any fan pages either...well they do have other websites where fans talk about their brand, that’s got to be something right….right?

Above is a screenshot of what exactly I'm talking about. There are multiple websites which allows consumers or people on the internet to go on these websites and post their opinions/ratings about Stella Artois beer products and how they felt about testing the product out. Not only are there these websites but there’s also blogs like ours that post content similar to our cold certified beer blog which is discussing about the brand and talk about any activity that Stella Artois has been a part of or an analysis of their business activity and products. The same can go with Sleeman with the exception that their fans are more involved with writing about them in their blogs then having created website where they can create discussion threads. Another website that I would expect to get more attention are beer fans who make reviews on YouTube which you can see the video below where a YouTuber by the name of Gregsbeerreviews talks about his thoughts and opinion when tasting the famous Stella Artois beer. So with all of this being said, is it a bad thing that both Sleeman and Stella Artois don’t have fan social media accounts/pages? Well I guess I’ll leave that up to you guys to answer.

My objective throughout this blog post is to try to engage our fellow readers on what to expect on the “fan pages” that Sleeman and Stella Artois are encouraged to have. So a couple things I could mention theoretically if these brands were to have fan pages is to expect similar content that is posted on review sites or blog sites like ours which is personal opinions and arguments on how we feel about both their products and their marketing strategies.

I do apologize for not being able to strongly educate you guys into the expectations for Sleeman and Stella Artois’ fan pages but I hope this gave you enough information on what to you could expect is they theoretically had fan pages created. If there’s one thing I learned through this blog post is that I was able to create this blog post with the proper criteria I wanted to discuss and unbelievably did it in 457 words and counting…461, 462, 463…Well you guys get the point. Let me know if there is anybody out there who can find one, Cheers!

Sleeman vs Stella Artois on YouTube

This social media platform that will be talked about in this discussion is different from others because it requires using effective images and videos more than creating written content like they did on Facebook and Twitter.

After looking at both YouTube channels from both these brands, it is well agreed that both brands are as effective and efficient as they are on their other social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. When looking at both their channels, you’ll be able to see that Stella Artois has been a part of YouTube longer than Sleeman has and has more of a following but still post like 2-3 times a month while Sleeman’s content performance has been a lot slower from them only posting about 8 times this year! The posting game clearly favours Stella Artois over Sleeman Brewery. When looking into their channel more and analyzing the type of content the post both brands post very common content which include promotion videos, company events, celebrity endorsement videos and interviews with members of the company.

In the description area, Stella Artois shows a high performance result than Sleeman by linking to other sites for their #BuyALadyADrink campaign and other social media platforms for their audience to follow, Stella Artois also uses description to describe the video and the purpose of the video. The one area hat Stella Artois needs to improve on is incorporating keywords and tags into the video to attract more people and increase awareness for the video. Sleeman on the other hand doesn’t use much in the description category, which include not adding tags or keywords or even explaining to the audience the purpose of the video.

When comparing the best videos between the two historic brands, you can see that Stella Artois’ “Host Beautifully” commercial has won with receiving more feedback than Sleeman did with their famous “Sleeman Speakeasy” commercial. Below are videos of both commercials. Stella Artois “Host Beautfifully” received about 6.6 million views, 57 likes and 12 comments while Sleeman’s speakeasy received 400K views, 9 likes and 9 comments.

Sleeman Brewery vs Stella Artois on Facebook

Throughout this entire blog journey, you will be constantly looking at the comparison of two historic brands and how they perform with the social media powerhouses Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. For today’s blog, will be the first in-depth chapter of looking at Sleeman brewery and Stella Artois in the Facebook world.

When looking into their performance, both Sleeman and Stella Artois have proactive moments on Facebook when releasing content to their viewers but overall are not very efficient when posting onto the platform. The type of content that both brands produce to their audience are mostly promotional content about any new products there introducing like Sleeman’s Dark Chocolate lager that they released in December and Stella’s historic bottle to represent the original creation of their brand. Both brand are doing a very good job when making content interesting and incorporating videos and images to help the consumer understand the content that each brand is producing. Sleeman and Stella Artois also create content that promotes events that their hosting along with any associated partners for their brand or event.
Sleeman announces partnership with Just For Laughs for their JFL Northwest event.

Another important factor to consider is how both brands use the 50/50 rule. Between these two brands, Stella Artois and Sleeman both have their fair share of providing their audience with the right amount of content that is not only informative but also collaborative and interesting for views to be educated but entertained. Stella Artois uses keyword sentences like “Buy a Lady a Drink Chalice”, “Give beautifully” and “reimagined dining” while Sleeman uses keyword sentences like “notoriously good beer”, “local Canadian beer” and “Sleeman speakeasy”.

Over the recent posts each company has made, they both have had a decent amount of likes and comments. Sleeman’s best post in recent months has been there post about introducing there new Sleeman Chocolate Lager for the winter season, while Stella Artois most successful post in recent months comes from a post about announcing a five-course dinner event held in Toronto, called the Stella Artois Sensorium. I believe these posts were very well done because both included alt text images and videos and really engaged with audience to try new things that each company has to offer.

Social Media Presence on Beer Brands: Stella Artois

In the business world, many companies are now heavily relying on social media and how it has impacted their business. One of the brands that will be talked about in this blog is Stella Artois and the digital marketing strategies they use for their brewery products.
Here are the social media platforms that there apart of:

When talking an in-depth look at Stella Artois performance on social media, you could agree that their most effective social media platform is Facebook due to the number of followers they have which is currently at 7.7 million likes on their page. Stella Artois posts pretty frequently but still struggle to post on a daily basis. The types of content that they produce to their audience is visual content promoting theirBuy A Lady A Drink campaign as well as the Give Beautifullyholiday campaign to promote brand awareness and awareness for the charities their involved with. The purpose of their content is to engage with their audience by using hash tags in their content as well as promoting their beer and having their audience become invested into purchasing their well-known Stella Artois chalice to help save women in need for clean water.

Based on the findings, I believe that Stella Artois has established themselves as a well-known brand in the global community. Although I do feel as though they have the potential to grow their social media presence by using effective social media strategies such as posting on a daily basis and creating effective promotional strategies to get people talking on social media. An example could be by involving Stella Artois’By A Lady A Drinkcampaign and making it grow in the social media world and allow everybody to get involved. I feel as though the issue with this campaign is that not many people are aware of the campaign. An example that I believe Stella Artois should shadow off of is a company like Bell Canada, who uses the #BellLetsTalk to spread awareness for mental health and every tweet that is used with that hashtag will do directly to a mental health charity. I feel that by Stella Artois executing these strategies, they will increase their following and open more job opportunities for people to manage their social media interaction with their consumers.

When searching for “high quality beer” Sleeman’s home page comes up midway on the second page.
When searching for “high quality beer” Stella Artois’ home page didn’t come up even after going through the first 25 pages.

Summary:
Sleeman strengths are its use of visual content on their webpage and their ability to provide their audience with the right information on every product they have invented. Their able to explain to them the physical characteristics of the beer as well as explanations to taste and comparing taste of other lagers that they possess. Sleeman also does a good job of organizing there information by having alt text tabs so consumers can take a look and solely be focused on what they’re looking for. (Sleeman Canada, 2016)
Stella Artois strengths are its use of social media. Stella does a great job of having social media posts laid out into their home page so people can see the artwork that users use when making a product look great on their social media posts which causes the audience to be engaged to the product more frequently. Stella Artois also does a good job of making people feel prestigious and elegant when purchasing this product because of the colour layout of their website and product image itself, as well as the content they provide of their history and heritage of their brand and product. (Stella Artois, 2016)
When searching for content using the keyword:  “High Quality Beer, Premium Quality Beer and Best Breweries Sleeman ranked on the second page of Google. When searching for content using the keywords: “High Quality, Premium Quality and Historic Beer”, Stella Artois didn’t possess a rank. The two sites have this in common which is that there both high quality beer brands that are heavy users of social media and have very well organized webpages that successfully target there intended audience. What they also have in common is their lack of incorporating tags into their website, but they are different in that Sleeman provides a lot more information about the beer products, well Stella Artois focuses more on a higher class audience with the elegant social media posts and information on their history and how they position themselves as a traditional beer company. In conclusion, Sleeman looks to be more effective in most areas, well Stella Artois needs to provide more information on their products and improve on their SEO strategies to educate their audience with the right information about their product and help consumer find their brand website more efficiently.

Conclusion:
In the beer industry, Sleeman and Stella Artois are both good beer brands that have many areas of improvement including their SEO keywords that can help their target audience reach their brand a lot easier and quicker. Using keyword sentences throughout their sites like “High Quality Beer” will ultimately help the consumer search for those brands in the right keyword category. Both these brands are considered to have high quality products but if consumers aren’t aware of that then having these keywords will be able to have effective use in solving those problems. In my opinion the overall winner of this SEO Search analysis is Sleeman Brewery. I believe that overall they have a well-structured webpage that provides effective information of beer products that really help the purchasing decision of the consumer. Although they do lack a little on previewing social media posts, their still able to have enough information on their page for consumers to look at as well as directed social media links for consumers to view any reviews or campaign ads that they introduce.
